Shuka Bureau

I really admire the vivid use of colour used in Bureaus work and the use of composition that creates depth within the image. I think that the addition of typography transforms this image, even though it may have been used for a publication, I still think it adds an aesthetic value. The surrealism and playfulness with scale gives the image a really contemporary feel.

Creative Presence: Intro + Research

Who are you?
Where do you want to work?
Areas/creative field?
Why?
How?

This is PPP.

Pester People - gain contacts from tutors. When I leave LCA, Ideally I should have 50/60 contacts, relating to progression of my career.

What area do I want to work in?

In this session, I brought up my interest in branding and/or advertising. I have always liked the idea of contextualising my illustrations which is why I think these platforms appeal to me so much. Each platform would have a certain pathway that I should go down in order to work in these fields.

Would I need an agent?
Production Companies?

blinkart.co.uk - This is a group of production companies that each specialise in their own unique field. A really good place to start in getting to know what is out there. Also a good source of contemporary artists.

Companies that specialise in printed campaigns?

Heart Design

Big Active

Village Green
Look into advertising agencies?

I need to get my head around the process and transactions that would need to take place in order for me to work with/for a production company. I'm really glad I've managed to identify some starting points for where my practice could be headed, as prior to this I was completely unsure.

Sara Gelfgren

Robert Jae-Heng

I found this artist on the Association Of Illustrators site, and really admire the subtle use of texture with shape. I am unsure if these are mixed media pieces or digitally created, however I think they definitely achieve a sense of authenticity. I also admire this artists website layout and think that it clearly displays the work in a sleak and professional way.
