Current inspirations

Recently I feel that I have really been able to capitalise on some of my personal successes in terms of media and creating a tone of voice for myself. I feel that my passion for illustration has become so much greater than what it originally was, and I find myself researching existing illustrators using social media, newsletters etc. I have found a number of existing artists that I feel really reflect my intentions and create the kind of work I enjoy making. 

Tom Cole

Cole is an illustrator who I feel conveys mood and atmosphere incredibly well in his work. His textural approach to making pictures really gives them a quaint and often heart warming feel. Though I am unsure of his method of production, I really admire what appears to be a mixture of analogue and digital media and I think the contrast between the 2 is really complimentary, and something that is actually quite trendy right now in the illustration scene. 

Michael Driver

An illustration graduate who I have followed on Instagram for quite some time. I love his mixture of digital and analogue media to create subtle textures which make his work really charming.  I love how experimental he is with proportions and figure, and think that this piece in particularly uses this to create a unique and interesting composition. 

Brian Edward Miller

This guy is insane and I love his colour schemes and everything pretty much.
